Corporate Development Integration is seeking an experienced integration communications and onboarding leader to drive adoption of functional and business integration activities in Amazon's mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Amazon's integration leaders in this space are called Integration Experience (IX) Leads as they focus on minimizing disruption and driving engagement for acquired employees through internal communications, onboarding, training, cultural integration, and employee engagement strategies.

The IX Lead plans, creates, and executes integration enablement programs across the full integration lifecycle, from due diligence through approximately 90-100 days post-acquisition close. This role supports integrations of all sizes, both private and public company transactions, across multiple geographies, and managing multiple concurrent integration programs. Leveraging change management best practices, the IX Lead focuses on accelerating time to productivity for acquired organizations by delivering pragmatic, scalable support that is directly aligned to deal goals, navigating the ambiguity of M&A transactions and synthesizing input from business and cross-functional teams. Central to this role is supporting a culture of inclusion, trust, and respect in all working relationships—with acquired employees, cross-functional partners, and leadership alike.

This role supports global transactions, requiring domestic and international travel approximately 30% of the time. Due to the dynamic nature of M&A timelines, travel may occasionally be planned on short notice.

Key job responsibilities
Change Enablement & Integration Strategy
- Apply change management best practices to assess change readiness, identify potential friction points, and develop tailored enablement strategies based on deal complexity and anticipated change impact
- Translate functional and business integration activities into people-focused experiences through sequencing, prioritization, and stakeholder engagement
- Conduct cultural and change readiness assessments during due diligence, translating findings into actionable recommendations for communication, onboarding, and engagement strategies
- Define the scope of change support required for each transaction in partnership with the Integration Manager and Business Sponsor
- Identify opportunities to improve internal integration processes and scale best practices across the IX portfolio

Internal Communications
- Own the end-to-end employee communication strategy across the integration lifecycle, including employee newsletters and FAQs, leader briefing materials, and targeted messaging for specific employee groups
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans for key milestones (Deal Sign & Announcement, Deal Close & Day 1 Orientation), coordinating inputs from cross-functional teams (Business, Legal, PR, HR, IT, Finance, and Real Estate)
- Write and review all employee-facing communications ensuring clarity, consistency, and cross-functional alignment across stakeholders
- Develop executive communications that distill complex integration details into clear, compelling narratives
- Advise on organizational design communications, including sequencing and timing of reporting structure changes to manage employee experience

Onboarding & Training
- Plan and execute Day 1 Orientation events and customized onboarding experiences, including structured onboarding programs, leader onboarding programs, establishing a support network for the acquired population (onboarding buddies and key individuals to meet), and role-specific training
- Design and deliver comprehensive training plans in partnership with cross-functional teams, coordinating timing and sequencing to ensure a cohesive employee experience
- Equip Amazon and acquired company leaders to deliver integration messages through leader briefings and one-on-ones, enabling them to guide their teams through the transition
- Educate cross-functional partners and business teams on IX workstreams, integration milestones, and employee experience considerations

Cultural Integration
- Identify gaps between the acquired organization's operating norms and Amazon's ways of working, and develop integration strategies to bridge them
- Design and execute cultural integration approaches, including education on Amazon's Leadership Principles, Working Backwards methodology, business writing, and other ways of working
- Implement Change Champion Networks for large, complex transactions to support peer-to-peer adoption and sustained engagement

Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders (Business Sponsors, VPs, acquired leadership) through direct engagement and consistent, communication
- Influence, advise, and build consensus among senior leadership in ambiguous situations, determining how to achieve the best outcome and knowing when and how to escalate effectively
- Keep cross-functional teams up-to-speed with proactive communication that anticipates questions

Employee Engagement & Measurement
- Own employee engagement measurement, including employee engagement pulse surveys, onboarding surveys, and integration surveys (~90-100 days post-close)
- Analyze employee sentiment data, identify themes, and present recommended actions to leadership, benchmarking results against historical acquisition data
- Use feedback loops to proactively address concerns, remove productivity barriers, and inform ongoing change support

About the team
The Corporate Development Integration team leads Amazon and acquired teams through the definition and enablement of the acquisition rationale and acquired business growth. Integration Experience (IX) Leads support this mission by planning, creating, and executing communications, onboarding, training, cultural integration, and employee engagement strategies that enable acquired organizations to adopt functional and business integration activities. Leveraging change management best practices, IX creates pragmatic integration enablement plans focused on ensuring acquired employees are informed, engaged, and supported throughout their initial integration journey with Amazon. We apply what's helpful, skip what's not, and stay solution-oriented, tailoring our approach based on deal complexity and business need.
