DCD Subregional Leader - Construction Acceleration

The Datacenter Construction Delivery (DCD) organization is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity that supports Microsoft's cloud business while meeting safety, quality, sustainability, schedule, budget, and operational readiness requirements.

The DCD Subregional Leader - Construction Acceleration is responsible for driving best-in-class speed-to-market outcomes across the Americas construction portfolio. This leader will develop and execute strategies that accelerate the delivery of critical datacenter capacity, identifying opportunities to optimize planning, procurement, design, construction, commissioning, and handoff processes to reduce schedule duration while maintaining safety, quality, and financial discipline.

This role serves as the central point for construction acceleration initiatives across the region, ensuring lessons learned, innovations, and proven delivery strategies are rapidly shared and adopted across projects and metros. The leader will partner closely with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Design, Quality, Commissioning, and Business Operations teams to align priorities, remove barriers, and enable faster, more predictable project execution. They will identify systemic opportunities for optimization, pilot new delivery approaches, and scale successful practices across the portfolio to maximize capacity delivery and achieve best in class speed to market.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years related experience OR equivalent experience.

Background Check Requirements: 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 15+ years related experience OR equivalent experience.
• 15+ years experience working on data center projects.
• 10+ years project management experience.
• 10+ years people management experience.
• Proven safety leader with a demonstrated ability to build and sustain a culture of physical safety, psychological safety, and employee well-being.
• Experience leading large-scale capital construction programs with accountability for safety, quality, scope, schedule, cost, and business outcomes.
• Experience leading geographically distributed construction organizations across multiple campuses, metros, regions, or countries.
• Strong cross-functional leader with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across Construction, Engineering, Supply Chain, Contracts, Project Controls, Commissioning, Quality, Operations, and external partners.

Construction Project Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
