Quality Assurance Engineer I, Amazon Robotics Systems Quality and Performance Engineering

We need engineers to help define the way we validate and test our products and features. You will be the quality advocate to enable delivery of high-quality robotics solutions, in collaboration with research scientists, software developers, and hardware engineers. Key job responsibilities
- Create and execute test plans and test cases for robotics product components, ensuring comprehensive coverage across functional areas.
- Isolate, document, and validate defects, troubleshooting issues to help developers identify root causes efficiently.
- Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to understand technical architecture and assess how changes impact test scope and product behavior.
- Interpret and report testing results, advocating for quality in every phase of the development process.
- Execute testing on in-house test floors to verify features meet quality standards prior to production deployment.

A day in the life
You will split your time between writing and executing test cases, reviewing requirements with engineers, and investigating defects. Some days are more collaborative — joining design reviews or scoping sessions with developers — while others are focused solo time on your test floor running through scenarios and documenting results. You will regularly share findings with your team and recommend improvements to testing approaches.

About the team
The Amazon Robotics team builds and maintains the robotic systems that power our fulfillment network. We are a group of quality engineers, software developers, and hardware engineers working together to ensure our products perform reliably at scale. We are growing and looking for curious, detail-oriented people who want to make a real impact on how robotics technology serves customers worldwide.

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in manual testing
- Knowledge of QA methodology and tools
- Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis
- Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage and control
- Experience executing and maintaining black box test cases
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization
- Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
