Corporate Counsel, Amazon Leo Legal

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

We are looking for a stellar lawyer to join Amazon Leo's legal team. This lawyer will provide legal counsel on a range of regulatory issues and operations related to satellite-based broadband services and cybersecurity, including those associated with regulations related to access to data and cybersecurity incident response. The lawyer will work with Amazon Leo's technical teams, public policy team, and other stakeholders throughout Amazon to strategize and advise on the constellation of regulatory issues involved in designing and building a global satellite network.

Prior satellite or regulatory experience is helpful but not required. But a successful candidate must have the skills and curiosity to become familiar with the technical and regulatory aspects of our innovative constellation, satellites, software and ground-based infrastructure. Success in this role requires superb writing and analytical skills, excellent judgment in facing novel issues, a strong bias for action, creativity, collegiality, flexibility, and enthusiasm for our mission to connect the unserved and underserved around the globe.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with with security and/or cybersecurity matters.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
