The Group: Morningstar’s Research group provides independent analysis on individual securities, funds, markets, and portfolios. The Research group also provides data on hundreds of thousands of investment offerings, including stocks, mutual funds, and similar vehicles, along with real-time global market data on millions of equities, indexes, futures, options, commodities, and precious metals, in addition to foreign exchange and Treasury markets. The Role: As an Associate Equity Analyst, you will work closely with the senior members of the analyst team, assisting them with stock coverage, modeling, and various research projects. This position is based in our London office.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise closely with the senior members of the research team on researching, analyzing, and valuing companies in several sectors.
- Work on research projects that assist senior members of the department in evaluating companies’ competitive advantages (or moats), relative positioning within their respective sectors.
- Assist in building and maintaining detailed discounted cash flow models for companies covered by senior analysts, focusing on the key drivers of the business and incorporating scenario analyses.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field is required; a Chartered Financial Analyst® or CPA designation and/or a Master's degree in business administration are preferred.
- Independence, critical thinking skills, and a passion for investing, with a bias toward long-term fundamental research and investing.
- Knowledge of various financial models, including discounted cash flow model. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- The ability to work under tight deadlines, sometimes with incomplete information.

Base Salary Compensation Range
GBP 41,800.00-55,733.33Bonus Target:
10% AnnualWe expect the compensation and target bonus for this role to fall within the stated range. The specific compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
