The Investment Counsellor, reporting to the Head of Specialist Advisory, Citi UAE, is responsible for delivering high-quality investment advice and expertise to Citigold Private Client clients, leading client market update events, and supporting Senior Relationship Managers and Citigold Private Client Relationship Managers through portfolio construction guidance, market insights, product education, and investment propositions.
The role aims to increase client satisfaction, share of wallet, assets under management (AUM), and revenue generation by promoting a holistic portfolio approach and ensuring the effective delivery of Citi’s investment strategy. Key performance indicators include revenue achievement, AUM growth, portfolio diversification, sales diversification, annual portfolio reviews for assigned clients, leadership of client market update events, and adherence to quality and control standards.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in strong understanding of financial markets, economies, and investment products , combined with strong problem-solving capabilities, strategic thinking, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Execution & Delivery
- Lead and execute end-to-end deliverables , ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Partner closely with key stakeholders across business, engineering, risk, and operations to translate requirements into clear, measurable outcomes.
- Identify operational efficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and throughput.
Technical & Functional Leadership
- Maintain rigorous standards for documentation, compliance, and governance across all project artifacts.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, proactively resolving risks, bottlenecks, or impediments.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a primary point of contact and trusted advisor
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment through transparent communication, reporting, and executive updates.
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or another quantitative discipline, or advanced degree (Master's, MBA) or industry-recognized certifications (e.g., [PMP, AWS Certified, CFA, etc.]).
- Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience
- Proven track record of managing complex projects from inception through successful completion.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prior experience operating within large-scale, enterprise, or regulated environments.
- Fluency in English, and preferably knowledge of Arabic
