About the role
Original posting provided by Citi
Citi's Banking franchise is organized around three lines of business: the Investment Bank, which meets clients' capital raising needs and provides merger and acquisition and equity and debt capital markets-related strategic financing solutions; the Corporate Bank, which serves as the conduit of Citi's full product suite to clients; and the Commercial Bank, which helps mid-sized companies address the challenges of rapid growth and international expansion.
The Client & Strategic Initiatives team drives cross-business initiatives, manages common capabilities, and serves as a trusted strategic partner to Banking leadership across the IB, CB, and CCB franchises. The team's mandate spans client and coverage strategy, business framework design, strategic program management, and executive communication.
We are seeking a Vice President to join the Client & Strategic Initiatives team, playing a key role in driving the client and coverage management agenda, supporting strategic initiatives, and running essential business execution functions across the Banking franchise.
Responsibilities:
- Support initiatives related to business growth, clients, and coverage while leading efforts to enhance core business frameworks and governance structures across the Banking franchise
- Prepare senior-level materials and strategic presentations to support business reviews, offsites, and executive decision-making
- Partner with senior stakeholders to translate business priorities into defined initiatives, plans, and deliverables — managing timelines, dependencies, and accountability across cross-functional teams
- Execute the comprehensive client and coverage methodology across Banking, including overseeing Citi Tiers and IB priorities
- Support the ongoing management of the Client Executive program, defining eligibility criteria, governance structures, workflows, and success metrics
- Support key digital initiatives — including Banking CRM development and the deployment of a Banker mobile app — project managing and coordinating business inputs to ensure delivery in partnership with Technology
- Support numerous ad-hoc analyses and presentations for senior management, framing issues and synthesizing key findings and recommendations
- Foster a collaborative team environment, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members and promoting knowledge sharing and skill development
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Recommended Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience within Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, or Commercial Banking — in client-facing, strategy, business management, or consulting roles
- Proven experience successfully supporting strategic projects and initiatives across a large, matrixed organization
- Strong problem solving, analytical, execution, and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to synthesize large, complex datasets and stakeholder inputs into clear executive narratives and recommendations
- Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to independently own work
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint expertise
- Consistently develops and maintains effective working relationships across senior stakeholders and functional partners
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; MBA or equivalent preferred
