About the role
Original posting provided by amazon
Amazon Web Services is seeking a senior marketing leader to define and execute the marketing strategy for Korea — one of the fastest-growing and most strategically important markets in the Asia Pacific region. This is a player/coach role: you will set the long-term marketing direction for Korea while staying deeply connected to execution across demand generation, Account-Based Marketing (ABM), events, digital marketing, and public relations.
As the Head of Marketing for Korea, you will be the single-threaded owner of marketing strategy, planning, and campaign execution targeting startups, developers, digital natives, SMBs, enterprises, and public sector customers across Korea. You will lead and develop a high-performing regional marketing team, drive orchestration across global marketing functions — including the Integrated Demand Centre (IDC), digital marketing, and events (Flagship and Cohort) — and deliver locally resonant programs that accelerate customer acquisition, pipeline growth, and brand awareness.
You will partner closely with the Korea sales leadership team, cross-functional marketing leaders across Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ), and global corporate teams to ensure marketing programs are tightly aligned to business priorities and deliver measurable impact.
The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with executional rigor, has a proven track record of building and scaling marketing functions in Korea's technology landscape, and brings a genuine passion for cloud technology and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Key job responsibilities
• Create compelling, results-driven marketing plans, complete with market assessments that deliver identified objectives to the business
• Overseeing implementation of the Marketing strategy for Korea - including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR.
• Lead overall implementation of marketing programs including lead generation activities,
eMarketing campaigns, product & solutions sales support, reference programs, customer & developer marketing programs, etc.
• Organize, assist and implement marketing events, including the AWS Summits, exhibitions, seminars, tradeshows and product launches.
• Day to day management and development of the marketing team.
• Work closely with the company’s Sales team; enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations.
• Develop and execute customer-driven, locally oriented marketing strategies and programs that will increase customer demand, sales, and positively impact Amazon Web Services brand equity.
A day in the life
The Head of Marketing for Korea will be responsible for building and executing marketing plans that deliver customer acquisition and retention programs necessary to power AWS's continued growth in Korea. The role's core responsibility is to use a combination of strong strategic planning and hands-on execution skills to successfully plan, develop, execute, and measure demand generation programs that deliver marketing contribution to the sales pipeline. You will operate at the intersection of strategy and action — setting the quarterly roadmap in the morning, reviewing campaign performance data over lunch, and joining a customer event debrief in the afternoon. No two days look the same, and that's what makes this role exciting.
