The Services Communications team as part of the Services Employee Engagement organization creates and curates content and experiences that inform and inspire, build meaningful connection and community, and connect our people to our business, culture, and one another. We’re looking for a collaborative, creative, and results driven Communication Strategist to build and execute meaningful, effective, and creative global communication strategies and employee campaigns. To be successful in this role, you should be high-energy, strategic, proactive, highly-organized, and possess the ability to see around corners and thrive in a fast paced, complex environment, often filled with ambiguity. In addition, we’re looking for someone who is not only a highly skilled communication strategist, but someone who is also passionate about creating a positive employee experience. You are a master of crafting the strategic approach, not just the tactics, framing the problem, and fueling teams to get to the solution. In this role, you will wear many hats. You will be, at different times, a writer, editor, critical/creative thinker, storyteller, Keynote designer, and project manager. You will help craft messaging and communication across a variety of channels, including email, Slack, video, internal website, employee communication events, and more. Success in this role, like every role at Apple, depends on the ability to build strong partnerships with internal partners, and strike the right balance between strategy and execution. We are looking for someone with a strong background in internal and executive communication, and experience managing employee engagement initiatives. Experience with event production, content production, video production, and crisis communication are a plus.
Description
As a Communication Strategist on the Service Internal Communication and Experience team, you will develop, lead, and support innovative internal communication campaigns and programs designed to help keep our Services employees informed, connected, inspired, and engaged. You will lead projects from concept to realization, partnering closely with leaders, People Business Partners, business leads, internal partners, and various other teams. The ideal candidate strikes a balance between strategy and execution. They should be comfortable building a strategic brief for a Town Hall meeting, crafting a story and messaging for a leadership presentation, working with stakeholders to craft a meaningful speaker session, drafting content for a monthly newsletter, building plans for organizational announcements, and more.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 6 to 8+ years in employee or internal communications, with 5+ years working with senior executives
Experience drafting detailed and comprehensive strategic briefs, and executing successful, complex communication strategies and campaigns
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to draft content and messaging for a range of internal communication channels, including employee emails, newsletters, speaker series, video, Keynote presentations, etc
Ability to juggle multiple projects with varying deadlines simultaneously
Ability to work independently, able to work a flexible schedule, and embrace change and ambiguity enthusiastically
Direct experience handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion
Ability to be onsite; this role is an in-person, onsite position
Available to work some nights and weekends as needed
Up to 30% + travel required; both domestic and international
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to plan and drive projects with cross-functional teams
Experience working with and managing creative teams (design and writing) and the creative development process — preferably in an internal communication, marketing or advertising agency setting
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent planning, organization and implementation skills
Structured/analytical thinker with outstanding attention to detail
Shown success in leading international collaborations
Innovative, with a critical/creative thinker attitude
Experience in interacting with and influencing all levels of management. Strong ability to drive action through collaboration and proactivity. Influences stakeholders at all levels to ensure the best outcome
Strong leadership with emphasis on collaboration, proactive, flexible, can-do attitude.
Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously
