Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Work closely with engineering teams through the entire development cycle to ensure that not only is the design robust, but that it is manufacturable in high-volumes - Contract Manufacturer (CM) Readiness. Work with the CapEx, Fixture (Automation / Manual) and Factory teams at every build to ensure that the fixtures needed for assembling the product and the test stations for testing them are in place and qualified. SOP for assembling products are ready and the operators are trained. Lead the team to triage all yield hitters and drive Failure Analysis (FA) to understand if the issues are on account of Design/Process/Part-quality and drive the responsible teams to address the issue. Synthesize information on the program (product readiness for mass production, factory readiness, relevant, trade-offs, impact on development milestones) into concise communication for Senior Management. 20% international travel required. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $235,147 - $293,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field and 9 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Experience and/or education must include:
Creating Request for Quotation/Proposal (RFQ/RFPs) that document design requirements.
Using machine qualification data including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability to enable automated equipment.
Using experience in new product introduction and Manufacturing Operations to develop automated equipment and products able to be assembled automatically.
Working knowledge of GD&T principles for automated equipment design.
Using Knowledge of optics principles as they relate to CCD cameras, 2D and 1D lasers, and their use or positioning and critical alignment machines to build new products.
Applying knowledge of robotics (6-axis and/or SCARA), pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLC and PC-based control systems to build new products.
Utilizing Keynote or any presentation programs to create slides that summarize technically complex issues to an audience with wide ranging backgrounds.
Using JMP to plot statistical distribution of manufacturing process and analyze performance.
