Job Description: 

As a Facilities Development Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-performing team tasked with designing and optimizing innovative facilities systems and equipment that drive Intel's ability to manufacture cutting-edge microprocessors and system-on-chip technologies. In this role, you will plan, execute, and oversee engineering experiments, roadmap technology advancements, and manage complex specifications to ensure seamless transitions into high-volume manufacturing. Your leadership and strategic guidance will be pivotal in enabling Intel's global facilities network to meet industry-leading standards in efficiency, precision, and scalability.

At Intel Corporation, the Facilities Operations team plays a vital role in enabling Intel's manufacturing capabilities. This group is responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of advanced facilities systems and equipment, ensuring alignment with Intel's broader mission to deliver world-class semiconductor technologies. By fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams, the Facilities Operations group directly supports Intel's innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence for our global manufacturing ecosystem.

The primary responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Set strategic roadmaps and priorities for facilities development teams to support manufacturing capabilities.
  • Manage the design and implementation of breakthrough facilities systems and equipment for advanced microprocessor and system-on-chip technology.
  • Lead teams in conducting engineering experiments and developing facilities systems to support technology development and high-volume manufacturing transitions.
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and execution of Intel Master Design Specifications and operations documentation for new facilities processes.
  • Collaborate with global suppliers to design new equipment, drive equipment improvements, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Provide resources, coaching, and mentorship to Technology Development engineers while driving innovation through pathfinding and technology road mapping.
  • Enable successful transfer and ramp of new facilities technologies into high-volume manufacturing across Intel's virtual factory network.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment, ensure team accountability, and manage performance to drive results across boundaries.
  • Because this role supports multiple sites, some travel may be required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering, with 6+ years of experience; OR a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience; OR a PhD with 2+ years of experience.
  • 2+ years of direct people-management experience in maintenance, operations, or with engineering teams is required.
  • Intermediate expertise in facilities systems design, engineering experiments, and/or high-volume manufacturing processes.
  • Intermediate expertise in facilities engineering systems load, capacity, design, and development, including equipment optimization for manufacturing applications, Design Review Task Force leadership, Capacity Gap Analysis leadership, What-If (WIF) exercise leadership, or equivalent.
  • Intermediate expertise  to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Advanced expertise in engineering tools and methodologies relevant to facilities development and process transfer.
  • Periodic travel to Asia factories in Malaysia, Vietnam, and Chengdu is required for this role, as well as other US back-end factories in Oregon, New Mexico, and Arizona.

  • Excellent collaboration skills across upstream and downstream functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with technology development methodologies and processes in facilities engineering.
  • Experience in fostering a diverse and inclusive team environment that drives innovation and results.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $140,830.00-198,820.00 USD
