Job Description

P2 Engineering Technician

Job Purpose

The P2 Engineering Technician provides technical support to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance of Drug Product, API and Packaging equipment within a high-containment Oncology manufacturing facility. The role operates in compliance with HPRA, FDA and cGMP standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain and support API, blending, capsule-filling, primary and secondary packaging equipment, including vision inspection, serialization and high-containment systems.
  • Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on production and utility equipment.
  • Complete calibration activities as required and execute scheduled work orders through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Record all maintenance and calibration activities accurately and comprehensively in the CMMS, in accordance with regulatory and cGMP requirements.
  • Develop, review and improve maintenance routines and procedures within a cGMP environment.
  • Promote lean maintenance practices and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Proactively investigate recurring technical issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Communicate maintenance activities, outstanding work and potential concerns clearly during daily shift meetings.
  • Work collaboratively and flexibly within the Engineering Department and across other site functions.
  • Participate in safety, environmental and cross-functional training initiatives.
  • Adhere to all company safety requirements, site procedures, policies and the Safety Statement.
  • Support the training and mentoring of Operations personnel.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and site departments.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, responding to call-outs when required.

General Responsibilities

  • Promote a strong culture of safety awareness across the site.
  • Complete all required SOP reading, training and assessments within established timelines.
  • Demonstrate and promote Takeda-ism and Takeda’s corporate values.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably assigned by the Maintenance and EHS Manager or an authorised company representative.

Educational Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Completed mechanical apprenticeship with at least five years’ relevant experience, or a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Relevant Experience

  • At least three years’ maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or senior technical role is desirable.
  • Experience with SAP or another CMMS is advantageous.

Base Salary Range:

€41,400.00 - €56,870.00
