Why Harvey

At Harvey, we’re transforming how legal and professional services operate. By combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise, we’re reshaping how critical knowledge work gets done for decades to come.

This is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. We have strong product-market fit and world-class investor support. We’re scaling fast and defining a new category in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for growth — personal, professional, and financial — is unmatched.

Our team moves fast, takes ownership, and is deeply committed to the mission — operating with intensity, staying close to our customers, and pushing each other for excellence. We live by three values: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished. We act quickly on clear judgment over perfect information, we believe simplicity is what scales, and we're never satisfied with where we are. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who share that drive, we'd love to build with you.

At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.

Role Overview

Harvey is redefining what's possible in legal work by combining cutting-edge AI with intuitive product experiences. Lawyers delegate and review work in the inbox and the document — not in a web app. Our Embedded Experience team owns those moments: Harvey's Word and Outlook add-ins, the Harvey Slack app, our MCP server (Harvey inside Claude and Copilot), the [email protected] email surface, and the connectors that power them. Word and Outlook are already two of Harvey's largest surfaces by weekly active users, and we just brought agents into both.

As an Engineering Manager for Embedded Experience, you will lead a team of full stack product engineers making Harvey the front door to agentic adoption: launching agents and workflows from the doc and the inbox, purpose-built agents for handoff moments (final-pass review, inbox triage), and — next — Harvey as a teammate you assign work to from email, Slack, and Teams. You'll partner closely with Product and Design, ship inside the constraints of the Microsoft ecosystem (Office.js, add-in manifests, marketplace review), and own quality and reliability on surfaces enterprise law firms use every day. This role is equal parts product intuition and technical execution. You'll be trusted to make fast, high-quality decisions, ship impactful features, work on the cutting edge of applied AI, and grow a team that embodies engineering excellence.

We move with urgency, bias toward simplicity, and expect our leaders to be hands-on when needed. If you're energized by ownership, decisive execution, and solving real user problems, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead fullstack engineering pod(s) building Harvey's embedded surfaces — the Word and Outlook add-ins, Harvey for Slack, MCP server, and the integrations behind them.

  • Own delivery of agentic experiences in those surfaces: running custom agents and workflows without leaving the document or inbox, and specialist agents for first-mile (inbox triage, intake) and last-mile (final pass, doc compare) legal work.

  • Collaborate closely with Product and Design to translate the team's charter into quarterly roadmaps, and with GTM/CS on adoption of the add-ins as entry points into Harvey.

  • Drive operational excellence — reliability, latency, and cost-per-query — on high-traffic surfaces, including partnership with Microsoft on platform-level issues.

  • Contribute to code and architecture reviews, unblock teams, and lead by example when needed.

  • Hire, grow, and retain exceptional engineers who thrive in a high-trust, high-impact environment.

What You Have

  • 3–5 years of experience in a software engineering management role leading full stack product engineering teams, preferably in high-growth environments.

  • 5–7 years of experience as a full stack or backend product engineer.

  • A track record of leading high-performing, engaged engineering teams and shipping polished user-facing product.

  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React) and backend systems (e.g. Python, Node, Go).

  • Strong cross-functional instincts — you partner with PM and Design as peers and can represent the team to executives and customers.

  • A plus: experience with Office add-ins / Office.js or other embedded/extension platforms (Slack apps, Chrome extensions, MCP), email/calendar integrations, or LLM-powered product features.
