Job Description

Typical Accountabilities
- May support global leadership initiatives by providing guidance for policy and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring sharing of best practice and continuous improvement.
- Conduct horizon scanning for policy, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement trends.
- Contribute to the design of global Policy & Advocacy initiatives (e.g., signature programs), subject to budget approval, and have regional accountability for implementation.
- Develop and promote processes and guidance for responsible external engagements and related benefits in kind, ensuring compliant practice.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert on policy and stakeholder engagement; provide guidance to specific markets and regions.
- Manage or maintain systems and databases for tracking external engagements, including delivering enhancements and supporting transitions to in‑house solutions.
- Embed governance frameworks to align stakeholder engagement activities with Global Policy; produce periodic management information for AstraZeneca business units.
- Contribute to AstraZeneca annual reporting with relevant Policy & Advocacy disclosures.
- Measure the effectiveness of policy and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Take operational accountability for designated stakeholder partnerships to help deliver healthcare outcomes aligned with AstraZeneca access and policy objectives.
- Support Associate Director/Director on the strategic interface with external partners.
- Consult with Human Resources, Access to Medicines/Access to Healthcare, and R&D to develop and implement employee engagement guidance related to advocacy activities and measures its effectiveness.
- Engage with external stakeholders (e.g., policymakers, payers, patient organisations, NGOs) to understand needs relevant to the policy agenda.
- Communicate AstraZeneca’s contribution internally and externally in liaison with Corporate Communications.
- Contributes to the evolution of global and local Policy & Advocacy activities, building on relevant Global Policy and guidance.
- Manage policy‑related contributions or sponsorships where applicable and acts as a champion for the Responsible Business strategy, role‑modelling compliant advocacy.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the Policy & Advocacy network.
- May have budgetary responsibility.
