Job Description

Join SanDisk's Storage Validation Engineering team and help deliver high-quality software solutions for validating next-generation flash storage products.

In this role, you will develop AI-assisted Python automation solutions, analyze product and protocol requirements, execute validation on storage devices, investigate complex failures, and contribute to release qualification. You will work closely with software, firmware, validation, and release teams across India, Israel, and the United States.

This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy Python development, AI-assisted engineering, system-level debugging, Linux and Windows environments, and working close to hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Understand product requirements, technical designs, and storage protocol specifications.
  • Create comprehensive validation strategies including functional, negative, integration, stress, recovery, and regression scenarios.
  • Plan, design, develop, review, and maintain automated validation solutions using Python and AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • Validate storage features, software enhancements, and bug fixes on physical storage devices.
  • Execute sanity, functional, integration, performance, and regression test campaigns.
  • Analyze logs, reproduce failures, and isolate issues across test frameworks, host software, firmware, operating systems, and device layers.
  • Report defects with clear reproduction steps, logs, configurations, and technical findings.
  • Verify fixes and provide evidence-based quality sign-off.
  • Contribute qualified tests to automated sanity and regression suites.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed development, validation, and release teams.
  • Improve test automation, diagnostics, reliability, and engineering productivity.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in software engineering, validation, system testing, quality assurance, or test automation.
  • Strong programming skills in Python with hands-on experience developing automated test solutions.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Good understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycle management, and quality engineering practices.
  • Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Working knowledge of Git and GitHub development workflows.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development, testing, debugging, or engineering productivity tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, drive tasks to completion, and take ownership of validation activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SSDs, flash storage, firmware, drivers, embedded systems, or system software.
  • Knowledge of storage protocols such as NVMe, SCSI, or ATA.
  • Experience with Python test frameworks, log analysis, and data-driven testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, Agile, Scrum, and Continuous Integration workflows.
  • Working knowledge of C or C++.
  • Exposure to large-scale automation environments and test infrastructure development.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve software development, testing, or engineering productivity.
