Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing (BXMA) manages $109 billion across a diversified set of businesses. We strive to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for our clients across market cycles. Our strategies include Absolute Return, Multi-Strategy, Total Portfolio Management, and Public Real Assets.
The Multi-Strategy Investing platform (“MSI”) was launched in 2011 and is the team's flagship commingled multi-strategy fund. MSI’s mandate is flexible across the capital structure – investing in equities, preferreds, converts, bonds, loans and structured investments. The team can execute on both private and public opportunities across geographies or industries.
The MSI team is able to leverage the broader Blackstone network (including Real Estate, Private Equity, Credit, and Strategic Partners), and the team’s direct relationships to source attractive investment opportunities. The team seeks an Investment Analyst for its fundamental equity team to support the fund’s fundamentally-driven investment process.
We are seeking a highly strategic, analytically rigorous, and execution-oriented Senior Investment Strategist to partner closely with the Chief Investment Officer in leading a dynamic Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund platform. This role sits at the center of the investment organization, helping synthesize information across portfolio managers, risk teams, research analysts, market developments, and macroeconomic trends into actionable insights and recommendations.
The successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills, sound market judgment, and exceptional communication capabilities. They will serve as a trusted advisor to the CIO, helping identify key themes, evaluate opportunities and risks, challenge assumptions, and ensure important developments across the platform are surfaced and contextualized in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the CIO to support investment decision-making, portfolio reviews, and strategic priorities across multiple asset classes and strategies.
- Aggregate, analyze, and synthesize information from portfolio managers, research teams, risk functions, counterparties, and market sources into concise, actionable insights.
- Support the CIO in evaluating portfolio positioning, capital allocation, thematic exposures, liquidity considerations, and risk-adjusted opportunities.
- Conduct independent research and analysis on market developments, macroeconomic trends, industries, and investment opportunities relevant to the platform.
- Prepare decision-oriented materials and analyses for investment committees, portfolio reviews, and senior leadership discussions.
- Identify cross-strategy observations, portfolio implications, and risk considerations that may not be readily visible at the individual manager level.
- Help the CIO prioritize key investment issues by filtering large volumes of information and highlighting the developments most relevant to portfolio performance and risk.
- Serve as a thought partner to portfolio managers and investment teams by providing analytical support, challenge, and alternative perspectives.
- Coordinate efforts across investment, risk, analytics, and operations teams to support informed decision-making.
- Drive special projects focused on portfolio analytics, market intelligence, investment process enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
- Act as a central coordination point across investment, risk, operations, and executive leadership functions to facilitate timely communication and execution.
- Serve as a proxy for the CIO in selected internal and external meetings when appropriate.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in investment management, hedge funds, asset management, investment banking, or related financial markets roles.
- Strong understanding of multi-strategy investing, including exposure to equities, credit, macro, relative value, and/or quantitative strategies.
- Proven experience synthesizing large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information into concise, actionable conclusions.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior investment professionals.
- Proven experience operating in a high-performance environment with sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Strong project management and organizational capabilities, with a track record of driving execution across complex initiatives.
- High intellectual curiosity, commercial orientation, capable of maintaining perspective amid rapidly changing market conditions.
- Advanced degree and/or CFA preferred.
