Job Description Overview

Accenture's Salesforce Business Group is seeking a Salesforce Life Sciences Functional Architect. In this role you lead the functional design of a defined workstream or capability area within a larger Salesforce Life Sciences program — running requirements and design sessions, translating business processes into platform solutions, and making day-to-day design decisions within the architecture direction set by senior architecture leadership. You will work directly with client business owners and product owners, guide a team of functional analysts and configurators, and partner closely with technical leads to see your designs through to delivery.

We Are:

Accenture is a leading global professional services company that helps the world's leading businesses, governments and other organizations build their digital core, optimize their operations, accelerate revenue growth and enhance citizen services—creating tangible value at speed and scale. We are a talent- and innovation-led company with approximately 790,000 people serving clients in more than 120 countries. Technology is at the core of change today, and we are one of the world's leaders in helping drive that change, with strong ecosystem relationships. We combine our strength in technology with unmatched industry experience, functional expertise and global delivery capability to deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity every day. Visit us at www.accenture.com.

You Are:

You will join Accenture's Salesforce Business Group — one of the largest and most experienced Salesforce practices in the world. We have been building on this platform since the beginning, which means we have seen what works, what doesn't, and how to deliver at scale. We are Master Certified across all 12 industries and clouds, and our team holds over 4,200 certifications including Certified Technical Architect (CTA). In Life Sciences specifically, we bring deep domain knowledge alongside our Salesforce expertise — helping pharmaceutical, biotech and MedTech clients modernize commercial operations, improve patient and HCP engagement, and build the platforms that power their next phase of growth. We invest in our people through ongoing training, specialization paths and a culture of continuous learning.

As a Salesforce Life Sciences Functional Architect at the, you are a hands-on functional leader who is trusted to own a workstream end to end. You are equally credible in a client workshop and in a design review, and you are comfortable making decisions in your domain while knowing when to escalate. You bring practical Life Sciences knowledge — how commercial teams, patient services and medical affairs actually operate — and you use it to challenge assumptions and shape better solutions. You take pride in the quality of your designs, and you are ready to grow into a broader architecture leadership role.

The Work:

  • Own the functional solution design for an assigned workstream or capability area within a Salesforce Life Sciences program, working within the overall architecture direction set by senior architecture leadership

  • Lead design workshops with client business and product owners, and translate outcomes into user stories, functional specifications and technical designs

  • Configure and demonstrate Salesforce Life Sciences capabilities, building prototypes and running solution walkthroughs to validate design decisions with stakeholders

  • Make day-to-day design decisions within your domain, document trade-offs and rationale, and escalate cross-workstream or platform-wide decisions to the lead architect

  • Partner with technical leads and developers to ensure designs are buildable, and support estimation, sprint planning, backlog grooming and defect triage

  • Guide and review the work of functional analysts, configurators and offshore team members, providing coaching and quality oversight on deliverables

  • Contribute to architecture governance and design reviews by preparing materials, presenting your workstream's approach and applying agreed standards consistently

  • Support testing, data migration, training and deployment activities for your workstream, and help drive user adoption post go-live

  • Contribute to proposals, demonstrations and estimates during pursuits, and help build reusable assets and accelerators for the Life Sciences practice

  • Identify and raise design, scope and delivery risks within your workstream, and work with leadership on mitigation

Travel may be required for this role.  The amount of travel will vary from 25% to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

    Here’s What You Need:

    • Minimum of 3 years of Salesforce experience in a functional design, business analysis or solution consulting capacity

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering Salesforce solutions for Life Sciences clients or another regulated industry

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience with Salesforce Life Sciences Patient services experience

    • Minimum of 1 year of Salesforce Life Sciences experience

    • Professionals in this position should have working functional and configuration knowledge across the Salesforce Life Sciences landscape, including but not limited to:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)

    Bonus Points If:

    • Life Sciences Cloud / Health Cloud data model, security model and declarative configuration

    • Commercial and HCP engagement processes such as account and territory management, call planning and omnichannel engagement

    • Patient services processes such as enrollment, benefits verification, adherence and case management

    • Medical affairs and MSL engagement, including adverse event capture and downstream handoffs

    • Familiarity with integration concepts across CRM, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud and external data sources

    • Awareness of regulatory and compliance considerations such as GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA and global privacy requirements

    • You hold Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Sales Cloud or Service Cloud Consultant, Health Cloud Accredited Professional, or Life Sciences Cloud credentials
