This department is part of the Global Engineering, and he is supporting one of the business units of Sanofi. Our main mission is to:
- Represents M&S Vaccines GBU and site needs, is accountable for on-time in-cost delivery of Tier 1 & 2 projects and assets lifecycle management.
- Defines and oversights maintenance, asset life cycle management & energy strategic roadmap.
- Leads transformation projects across sites and Vaccines GBU.
- Support industrial strategic roadmap design and then coordinate master plan with sites and allocate resources and CapEx accordingly.
- Oversight M&S Vaccines GBU CapEx portfolio and projects prioritization.
Main responsibilities:
- Creates, leads, and manages the Vaccines GBU M&S Engineering, Maintenance and Utilities Department, which consists different Groups of specialists in the areas of: Capex projects planning and forecasting, Technical Support, asset reliability and lifecycle, Sustainability, Energy management, Utilities management and plant & process automation.
- Oversees and rigorously manages the Vaccines GBU Capex projects portfolio through a balanced allocation of Capex amounts across Clusters, Sites, Capex project types and ensures Capex spending according to budget targets.
- Supports Clusters and Sites to prepare and submit cost-effective Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects to the M&S Investment Portfolio Committee (and Strategic Capex Committee for the Tier 1 projects) and ensures the projects meet the requirements of the Business, IPC and SCC policies and follows Best Engineering Practices and Sanofi Standard, that includes high Asset Utilization, OEE, Value Engineering, Design to Cost, Lean Design and Sanofi Engineering Standards
- Builds a strong relationship with Sites, Provides Engineering and Technical Support to Sites operations proactively with the Department specialists or specialists selected across the engineering network, build site technical capabilities to guarantee optimal site execution.
- Contributes to, defines, and implements within the Vaccines GBU both Asset reliability & resilience principles and procedures (cost, equipment availability and reliability), Energy supply reliability and energy efficiency initiatives, considering Group CO2 reduction roadmap objectives across the Vaccines GBU M&S sites network and ensures Sites progress in these areas.
- Contributes to creating a safe working environment at the Sites, through the integration of safety design criteria in engineering the manufacturing lines, buildings, utilities, greenfield Sites and implements the necessary safety measures during the execution of projects, construction phases, maintenance and generally all engineering related activities.
- Looks forward to introducing innovative and/or digital technologies, equipment and cost-effective suppliers and contractors. T
- Takes active role in hiring, training, and developing Engineering leaders and specialists across GBU, both at Sites level and above Sites
- Actively manages and fosters development of talents across Engineering to build next generation of Engineering leaders.
- Leads the engineering community across M&S Vaccines GBU
- In an environment of openness & collaboration, the Business partner maximizes the contribution of Engineering within M&S as well as other functions in Sanofi. Meeting the needs of multiple stakeholders across Sanofi, aligning the Engineering Strategy with the needs of the BUs, ensuring high standards and working with common technology, tools, systems, for the good of One Sanofi.
About you
Experience:
- 10+ years expertise in senior Engineering, large project management and managing Position (Site, Country, or regional responsibility)
- Corporate function: A plus with at least five years Expertise at global or cross-functional level with a high-level management position
- Financial background
- 10+ years of experience in managing / execution of large capital investments in the biopharmaceutical industry including feasibility studies, design, construction, CQV, handover, and facilities operations.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, design of bio/pharma process unit operations and facilities operations

Technical skills:
- Engineering, Technical Management & Manufacturing site operations
- Experience with complex projects achieving significant business results.

Education:
- Master of Science Engineering or equivalent degree,
- Project management background required.
- Pharmaceutical & Bio-Tech facility start-up and /or manufacturing position experience.
Languages:
- Fluent English spoken and written compulsory,
- French and/or German language skills recommended.

The salary range for this position is :€180 000,00 - €240 000Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
