Who we are looking for
We are seeking a strategic technology leader to serve as Vice President, Core Accounting Application Development and Maintenance.
This leader will be responsible for helping us modernize our technology stack for our global Accounting distributed applications, delivering mission-critical systems that support back office accounting for our internal and external clients.
The successful candidate will manage development of multiple applications and oversee technology execution, engineering, delivery and modernization. They will drive innovation through cloud-native architectures, data and AI capabilities, automation, and modern engineering practices, while ensuring operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and exceptional client outcomes.
This application manager will partner closely with business, product, operations, risk, and enterprise technology leaders to accelerate growth, modernization, improve scalability and productivity, and enhance the overall client experience.

The team you will be joining is part of Global Technology Services (GTS), which delivers enterprise technology capabilities that support State Street’s global businesses. Within GTS, this role is aligned to the Accounting value stream. The position plays a pivotal role in shaping technology strategy and execution, ensuring solutions are built for reliability, scalability, and strong controls while meeting stringent regulatory, operational, and client expectations.

Securities Valuation Leadership
- Execute the technology strategy and roadmap for Core Accounting aligned to business priorities, client needs, and enterprise objectives.
- Drive application architecture, platform simplification, cloud adoption, and technology lifecycle management across the portfolio.
- Ensure delivery excellence through highly resilient, scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions.
- Accountable for platform stability, operational resiliency, service quality, regulatory adherence, and achievement of business and client outcomes.
- Partner closely with Product, Risk, and Client-facing teams to enhance capabilities, enable new products, support client growth, and improve competitive differentiation.
Transformation & Innovation
- Drive adoption of cloud-native architectures, modern engineering practices, data platforms, and automation capabilities across the application.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and technology excellence.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of technology leadership experience, including significant experience within financial services.
- Proven track record delivering application solutions for our business partners.
- Experience operating effectively and managing across multiple geographies.
Additional Requirements
- Experience with Public Cloud
- Experience with the C++, J2EE, PL/SQL, Perl and Shell scripting, Java web development.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Willingness to engage across multiple regions and time zones.
Work Requirement
- Hybrid with minimum 4 days in office
- 8:00 AM to 5 PM
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $202,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
