Candidate will play a critical role on the portfolio analytics team, bringing broad pharma industry experience across portfolio strategy, pipeline building, and commercial data analysis. The right candidate combines a strong grounding in therapeutic area landscapes and the drug development lifecycle with hands-on experience across pharma industry databases, and can independently translate large, complex datasets into decision-ready insight for senior stakeholders
Roles & Responsibilities:
Portfolio Strategy Analysis: Lead portfolio strategy analyses including competitor concentration, portfolio benchmarking by therapeutic indication, whitespace assessment, and pipeline gap identification.
Commercial Data Analysis: Conduct commercial data analysis and market assessments to inform leadership on portfolio health, asset attractiveness, and competitive positioning.
Therapeutic Area & Landscape Analysis: Maintain deep working knowledge of therapeutic area landscapes, drug development, and commercialization dynamics to contextualize portfolio insights.
Large Dataset & Complex Analysis: Work with large, complex datasets from pharma industry databases (Evaluate, Citeline, GlobalData, IQVIA, AlphaSense, etc.) and public sources (SEC filings, trial registries, patents, conference materials, investor communications) to ensure accuracy and reliability of analyses.
Independent Workstream Ownership: Own multiple workstreams end to end with minimal supervision, from framing the question and gathering data through to final output and recommendation.
Stakeholder Partnering: Support Commercial, Medical, R&D, Business Development, and portfolio strategy stakeholders, translating their questions into analytical approaches and delivering answers they can act on.
Reporting & Communication: Communicate insights clearly to senior, non-technical stakeholders using strong Excel and PowerPoint outputs; synthesize complex analyses into a clear narrative.
Collaborate cross-functionally and provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts as required.
Skills and competencies:
•Must-have: Understanding of pharma industry databases (Evaluate Pharma, Citeline, AlphaSense, etc.), advanced technical proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, and the ability to work accurately with large datasets and perform complex analysis, backed by portfolio analytics experience and a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape.
•Preferred/plus:
•Excel modeling built from scratch; SQL / VBA / Python for reporting
•Power BI / Tableau dashboarding
•Nice-to-have: Databricks exposure
Experience:
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Healthcare, Business, or a related quantitative discipline.
•3-6 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech portfolio analytics and strategy
•Strong understanding of therapeutic area landscapes, the drug development lifecycle, commercialization, and market dynamics.
•Hands-on experience with pharma industry databases and commercial/clinical datasets such as Evaluate Pharma, Citeline, GlobalData, IQVIA, Trialtrove, BioMedTracker, AlphaSense, or similar.
•Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and perform complex analyses, owning a workstream end to end with light supervision.
•Experience working in a matrixed pharmaceutical, biotech, consulting, or GCC environment is preferred.
