Job Description

The Future Begins Here: At Takeda, we are creating a future-ready organization that uses data and digital to meet the needs of patients, our people, and the planet. We need your help to make this happen. Join our Innovation Capability Center (ICC) in Bratislava, Slovakia.

At Takeda’s ICC we Unite in Diversity: Takeda is committed to creating an inclusive and collaborative workplace, where individuals are recognized for their backgrounds and the abilities they bring to our company. We are continuously improving our collaborators’ journey in Takeda, and we welcome applications from all qualified candidates. Here, you will feel welcomed, respected, and valued as an important contributor to our diverse team.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Platform Engineering Senior Specialist -  Digital Health, you will be a core contributor to the development of Takeda’s next-generation Digital Health Platform. Based in Bratislava and embedded in our platform team of engineers and subject matter experts, you will collaborate across product, data, security, and regulatory functions to build a scalable, secure, and compliant platform that powers Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and AI-enabled digital health solutions globally.

This is a hands-on role for a systems-minded engineer who thrives in cross-functional environments and is passionate about building robust, compliant, and developer-friendly platforms that accelerate innovation in regulated healthcare.

Responsibilities

Platform Architecture, Development & Orchestration

  • Design and implement core platform services and infrastructure components that support regulated AI/ML-enabled digital health applications.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Platform Architect to translate architectural blueprints into scalable, modular, and secure platform capabilities.
  • Develop APIs, SDKs, and infrastructure-as-code modules to enable product teams to build on the platform efficiently and safely.

Security, Compliance & GxP Readiness

  • Ensure platform components meet GxP, SaMD, GDPR, HIPAA, and cybersecurity requirements from the ground up.
  • Implement automated compliance controls, audit logging, and traceability mechanisms to support validation and regulatory submissions.
  • Partner with QA/RA and InfoSec to embed compliance and security into CI/CD pipelines and runtime environments.

Collaboration & Enablement

  • Work closely with product teams to understand their needs and ensure the platform accelerates — not hinders — delivery.
  • Contribute to internal documentation, onboarding materials, and developer enablement initiatives.
  • Participate in design reviews, threat modeling, and architecture discussions across the platform and product ecosystem.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or backend infrastructure roles.
  • Proven experience building cloud-native platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) with experience with containerized development, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with product, security, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site in Bratislava with flexibility for hybrid work.

Preferred:

  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or medical device software.
  • Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure, model deployment, or MLOps.
  • Knowledge of EU AI Act, FDA SaMD guidance, and cloud validation practices.
