Job Description

The Sourcing Specialist supports the implementation of category strategies by coordinating and executing sourcing events from supplier identification through contract finalization.

As part of Takeda Business Solutions, the Sourcing Specialist acts as the main point of contact for suppliers during sourcing and tendering processes, operating under the guidance of Global Procurement category buyers. The role prepares, configures, and runs competitive tenders and e-auctions in Takeda’s eSourcing systems, while coordinating regional and local supplier relationships until contracts are signed and activities are handed over to the relevant teams.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Takeda teams, particularly Category Management and Global Procurement
  • Plan, organize, and manage sourcing projects, defining clear scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables
  • Execute sourcing projects in line with category strategies, Takeda policies, operating procedures, and preferred supplier agreements
  • Prepare, configure, administer, and run competitive tenders, including RFx events and e-auctions, using eSourcing systems such as SAP Ariba Sourcing and Archlet
  • Enable and onboard invited suppliers for online sourcing events, supporting them throughout the process up to award
  • Monitor sourcing execution and support negotiations under the guidance of the Category team, acting as an escalation point where required
  • Analyze spend, supply markets, competitors, supplier proposals, and pricing to provide fact-based recommendations to Category and Strategic Sourcing teams
  • Prepare price and proposal comparisons and recommendations within agreed service-level agreements
  • Maintain effective information flow with the Category team and identify opportunities to aggregate demand and generate additional value
  • Contribute to the identification and delivery of savings opportunities, including defined hub-related metrics and KPIs
Identify sourcing risks and issues, recommend mitigations, and escalate matters appropriately
  • Participate in initiatives related to the deployment, enhancement, and continuous improvement of procurement systems and tools

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of operational procurement experience in contracting, eSourcing, spot-buying, tactical sourcing, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience leading RFx events and managing global or regional tenders end-to-end
  • Hands-on experience with eSourcing systems, preferably SAP Ariba Sourcing, including e-auctions; knowledge of Archlet or similar tools is an advantage
  • Proven knowledge of procurement, contracting processes, contract development, supplier relationship management, and risk management
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including cost modeling, price analysis, bid comparison, and spend analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power BI; experience with automation tools such as UiPath or Power Automate is an advantage
  • Strong communication, presentation, consulting, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
  • English language at a business level of fluency; additional language is an asset
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective sourcing events and recommendations
  • Ability to work independently

    Preferred:
  • Experience in an offshore or shared services environment is an advantage
  • Procurement-related certification, such as CIPS, CPSM, or APICS, is desirable
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, entrepreneurial, innovative, and continuous-improvement mindset
