About Credit Risk Review (CRR)

Credit Risk Review (CRR) provides independent, objective, reliable, valued, and timely assurance to the Board of Directors, Risk Committees, the Citigroup Chief Risk Officer, the Citigroup Chief Credit Officer, senior management, and global regulators. CRR evaluates the effectiveness of credit and collateral risk management, assessing the ability of business units and independent Risk Management to identify, monitor, and mitigate current and emerging credit risks.

Role Overview

As a key member of the CRR Analytics Team, you will provide critical data analytics and credit risk analyst support to Lead Reviewers. This role is instrumental in managing ongoing portfolio monitoring and credit reviews, identifying thematic risk trends, and evaluating emerging risks. You will collaborate closely with reviewers to assign portfolios, establish sample coverages, and participate actively in review activities, while also supporting broader data-driven credit risk projects across the CRR group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Credit & Exposure Assessment: Evaluate the integrity and accuracy of credit analyses, exposure calculations, risk rating methodologies, and asset classifications for monitored and reviewed relationships to ensure alignment with institutional policies and standards.
  • Credit Assessment Documentation: Partner with Lead Reviewers to draft comprehensive Credit Assessment Documents, integrating advanced credit and data analytics to quantify thematic risks or substantiate a portfolio's stable outlook ("good bill of health").
  • Assistant to the Lead Reviewer: Serve as a strategic analytical partner to Lead Reviewers, translating qualitative observations and risk hypotheses into rigorous, data-backed evidence. Maintain a deep understanding of credit policies and data structures to track the end-to-end credit lifecycle, including origination, underwriting standards, limit utilization, covenant compliance, and workout/remediation processes.
  • AI & Analytics Innovation: Leverage advanced AI and machine learning tools to streamline data extraction, identify thematic trends across diverse portfolios, and proactively flag emerging risk indicators.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Synthesize complex analytical findings and present clear, concise conclusions and recommendations to Lead Reviewers and senior risk management.
  • Reporting & Regulatory Presentations: Assist in preparing high-quality presentations and reporting materials to support internal governance committees and regulatory examinations.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 1-2 years of credit analysis or credit risk management experience within a global financial institution or banking environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Formal credit training or a deep understanding of financial accounting standards and credit analysis methodologies.
  • Corporate/FI Analysis: Prior experience assessing the creditworthiness and financial strength of Corporates and Financial Institutions is highly advantageous.
  • Digital Literacy: High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and a strong aptitude for adopting AI-enabled productivity and data analytics tools in compliance with organizational policies. Knowledge of Python is highly advantageous.
  • Professional Attributes: Proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative team player with a strong desire to learn and the ability to execute independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Execution Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple deliverables.
  • Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts clearly and concisely to various levels of management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Finance) and/or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM, CPA) are a plus.
